The Bösendorfer Silent Edition is the uncompromising symbiosis of two worlds: the unique Bösendorfer sound combined with the revolutionary Yamaha Silent SH3, which changes neither the mechanical nor the acoustic properties of your instrument.

The sophisticated sensor technology continuously captures every detail of your playing and sends this information to the digital sound module. The Quick Escape Mechanism, the only one of its kindin the world, guarantees the finest sensitivity and the best controllability of the action. Thanks to this technology, neither the acoustic mode nor silent mode affects the feel of your playing. The generated sound can be heard through stereo headphones and your family orneighbours remain undisturbed by your playing. Two headphone jacks make it possible for your teacher, friends or family to listen while you play or for you and a duet partner to play music for four hands. The pieces you record can be played back on any audio device and shared with friends and family using cloud technology or social media networks. Recording and playback of your piano playing is possible in both MIDI and audio modes.

The Silent mode is easily activated by pressing a key on the silent system of a Grand Piano or by pushing the middle pedal on a Grand Upright. The state-of-the-art fibre optic grayscale sensor system captures every movement of your playing and sends this information to the digital tone module.

You hear the unique tone quality of a sampled Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand or, optionally a Yamaha CFX concert grand via stereo headphones. Using the MIDI in / audio out feature, you can also add different piano sounds.

Recording and playback of your piano playing is possible in both MIDI and audio modes. Your MIDI recordings or compositions can be edited using standard sequencer software. Recordings via audio or USB can be played back on any audio device, including smartphones, tablets, computers, hi-fi stereos or MP3 players, and shared with friends and family via cloud technology or social media networks.
